    Title Entrance of Cable TV Service Provider into Broadband Internet Service Market: Bundling and Role of Access Charge

    Abstract This paper analyzed the incentive of entrant for service bundling and its effect on the incumbent with bottleneck facilities in the broadband Internet service market utilizing a classic Hotelling model. Through the analysis of the model, the incentive for bundling was analyzed and the access charge maximizing social welfare was determined. Assuming that the markets valuation for the broadband Internet service is sufficiently high, the entrant had an incentive for service bundling provided that there exists possibility for sufficient service differentiation. The entrants bundling strategy reduced the incumbents profit. However, the size of social welfare was independent of the level of access charge. The access charge only had an effect of redistributing net surplus between consumers and incumbent.
