Ph.D. Qualifying Examination (as of July 2010)
1) All students in both doctoral and M.S./Ph.D. integrated program must take and pass the Ph.D. qualifying examination, as part of the requirements for the doctoral degree.
2) All students must pass the exam within the specified period of time
A. Doctoral students: within a year and a half from enrollment
B. M.S./Ph.D. integrated program students: within 18 months from the recognition as doctoral students
¢¹ Semesters which students apply for leave of absence are not included
3) All students are given two attempts to take the exam and if a student does not pass in the required period of time, the student will automatically result in dismissal from the graduate program.
4) Exam Content
A. General topics that may appear on each section of the qualifying exam are listed below. (members of each area committee conduct the exam)
