        Minister of Environment of the Republic of Korea
    • Dr. Myung Rae Cho is the current Minister of Environment the Republic of Korea. Prior to this appointment, he served as the President of the Korea Environment Institute(2017-2018) and the Co-President of the Institute for Environmental Justice(2011-2017). As an expert in sustainable development, he also chaired a number of committees for sustainable development at the municipal level and taught at Dankook University as a professor. He holds a ph.D. in Urban and Regional studies from University of Sussex and an M.A. in Environmental Planning form Seoul National University.

    • Ian de Cruz is the Global Director of P4G, Partnering for Green Growth and Global Goals 2030, a new initiative to support innovative public-private partnerships that advance the new economy. He leads efforts to bring together global government, business, and civil- society organizations to grow game-changing partnerships to supply humanity's greatest needs: food, water, shelter, energy, and sustainable use of resources. Ian directs P4G's Global Hub from World Resources Institute's headquarters in Washington DC.

    • Jiyong Eom is an associate professor at KAIST College of Business and the head of KAIST Graduate School of Green Growth. His research interest includes energy & environmental economics and management, integrated assessment modeling for climate policy analysis, demand-side management of electricity with ICT, and green information systems & energy informatics. His research appeared in Nature Energy, Global Environmental Change, Energy Economics, Energy Policy, Energy, Technology Forecasting & Social Change, and Climatic Change. He served as a contributing author for Chapters 6 and 9 of the IPCC Fifth Assessment Report of Working Group III (Mitigation of Climate Change) and is a 2019 Highly Cited Researcher in the social science area. He received a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Yonsei University, a MS degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from KAIST, and a PhD degree in Management Science & Engineering with the concentration on Policy & Strategy from Stanford University.

      • Yannick Glemarec

        Executive Director of Green Climate Fund(GCF)
    • Yannick Glemarec is the Executive Director of the Green Climate Fund. He was appointed by the GCF Board at its 22nd meeting and took office on 3 April 2019.

      Yannick has 30 years of international experience in climate change, development and finance, and their interrelationships. He served as UN Assistant Secretary-General and Deputy Executive Director for Policy and Programme in UN Women from 2015 to 2018, overseeing services provided by close to 2,000 UN Women staff in over 80 countries worldwide. Before joining UN Women, he was Executive Coordinator of the UN Multi-Partner Trust Fund Office in New York from 2013 to the beginning of 2015. He was responsible for the design and administration of about 100 UN trust funds supporting humanitarian, post-conflict, development, and climate action in over 100 countries.

    • Dr. Hwang Suk-tae is the Deputy Minister of Living Environment Policy Office at the Ministry of Environment, Republic of Korea. He has extensive experience in environmental policies with the focus on water, air, and climate change. His public service started in 1991 at the Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea. He has worked on a range of domestic and international environmental issues while serving in the position of the Director of Watershed and Total Load Management (2009-2010), Director of Climate Change Cooperation (2010-2011), Director of Climate and Air Quality Policy (2011-2013), Director of Drinking Water Policy (2013-2016), and Director of Policy Coordination (2016), Director General of International Cooperation Bureau(2016-2017), Director General of Air Quality Policy Bureau(2018), and Climate Change & International Cooperation Bureau(2018-2020).
      • Kang, Jinsuk

        Team Leader of ENVELOPS
    • Jinsuk Kang studied Electrical engineering at Kyung Hee University and Solar energy engineering at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg in Germany. During her master's study, she gained scientific work experience at the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in the group Solar Facades with a focus on Building-integrated PV(BIPV). After her studies, she started her research career in the group PV Power Plants at the same institute. Her research focused on PV power yield prediction including new concepts such as a bifacial system and Agrivoltaics system. Currently, her main field of works at Envelops is the implementation of scientific studies in Small Island Developing States(SIDS) that are vulnerable for climate change, as a solution of climate change adaptation.
      • Kim, Jongil

        Director General of Energy Innovation Policy, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Republic of Korea
    • Mr. Jeongil KIM has served as Director General for the Energy Innovation Policy Bureau at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE) since October 2019. Mr. Kim has become an archetypical "MOTIE-man" during his time at the ministry over the past 25 years, playing an important role in key positions including Director General of three different bureaus, and Director of five different Divisions. Prior to his current appointment at the Energy Innovation Policy Bureau, his previous experience includes serving as Director General of the New and Renewable Energy Policy Bureau and the FTA Policy Bureau, as well as Director of the Energy & Resources Policy Division, the Americas Trade Division, the Electronic Parts & Materials Division, the Semiconductor & Display, Information & Communication Industry Division, and the Information & Communication Industry Division.

    • Jeong Tae Kim is CEO and president of Merry Year Social Company, a social innovation supporting organization & impact investor that provides consulting services, accelerating programs and impact investing to social enterprises and innovation projects. Prior to this, he worked for the United Nations for five years, traveling to many developing countries including Cambodia, Sri Lanka, and Bhutan to implement capacity-building programs on electronic/mobile government and good governance.       • Kim, Sang-Hyup

    • Sang-Hyup Kim is the president of Jeju Research Institute, a visiting professor at Graduate School of Green Growth, College of Business, KAIST and the founder and former chairman of Coalition for Our Common Future. Prior to joining KAIST, he worked at the Office of the President of the Republic of Korea in 2008 as the Secretary for National Future and Vision, where he contributed in setting the historic "Low Carbon Green Growth" vision for Korea. In 2011, he became the Senior Secretary to the President for Green Growth, coordinating the planning, development and implementation of Korea's Green Growth strategy. Through collaboration with the Presidential Committee on Green Growth and relevant ministries, his agenda ranges from national implementation of Green Growth policies to international climate change negotiations and promoting global cooperation for making Green Growth became a truly global asset. He also served as a member of the Global Agenda Council.

    • Professor Seong-Hoon Kim is an expert in the field of smart energy and has innovated energy production, consumption, and trade by incorporating ICT into energy industry. To this end, he created the smart energy platform consisting of energy IoT, big data analysis, and cloud service, which is showing differentiated business results in the fields of renewable energy and demand respond. At Samsung Electronics, he discovered smart grid as a new growth engine. At Iljin Electric Co., he worked on AMI, electric vehicle parts, and secondary battery material business. Also he served as the head of smart energy business at KT. Since then, he has lectured and researched on electric vehicles and green energy. From 2018, he founded a company specialized in renewable energy and ESS to solve the pain points of customers.
      • Lee, Jihwan

    • Ji-Hwan Lee is a professor of strategic and international management at the College of Business at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), where he is also the director of Social Entrepreneurship MBA and Advanced Innovative Management Program. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Seoul National University in Korea, and a Ph.D. from London Business School in the UK. Ji-Hwan's research interest includes corporate governance, M&As, global strategy, technology management, and organizational learning. He served as the editor-in-chief of the Korean Journal of Strategic Management and is currently a vice president of the Korean Society of Strategic Management. He is also an independent director of Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance and Dongwon Systems.

    • LEE, Tong-Q is Director-General of International Cooperation & Science/Tech Bureau, National Council on Climate and Air Quality of the Republic of Korea. For over 20 years, he has served the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, specifically focused on environmental issues. He was a Head of Climate Change and Environment Team, Counselor of the Korean Permanent Mission to the United Nations and actively involved in SDGs and Rio+20 Negotiation. Prior to his current position, he served as a Deputy Consul-General of the Korean Consulate General in Hamburg. He became a Deputy Director-General of the Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Scientific Affairs Bureau in 2018 and has actively engaged in a wide spectrum of environmental issues including the climate change negotiations.

    • Dr. MA Jun is currently the Director of the Research Center for Green Finance Development at Tsinghua University, Chairman of Green Finance Committee (GFC) of China Society of Finance and Banking, and a Member of the Monetary Policy Committee of the People's Bank of China. Being recognized as a global leader in green and sustainable finance, he is also the Special Advisor to the UNEP on Sustainable Finance, Member of the Global Steering Committee of the UNEP Finance Initiative, Co-Chair of G20 Green/Sustainable Finance Study Group (SFSG), Chair of Supervision Workstream of the Central Banks and Supervisors Network on Greening the Financial System (NGFS), and Chairman/President of Hong Kong Green Finance Association.
      • Park, Kwangwoo

    • Kwangwoo Park is Professor of Finance and Head of Graduate School of Finance at KAIST in Seoul, Korea. Dr. Park is also the former Head of Graduate School of Green Growth at KAIST. His current areas of research interest include financial intermediation, corporate governance, and sustainable finance. Dr. Park was a Fulbright Senior Scholar and also a research fellow for many leading institutions such as the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, the Bank of Korea (the central bank), and Korea Corporate Governance Service, and has been serving as a member of the advisory committees for the Korea Fair Trade Commission, Financial Service Commission, and the Office of the Prime Minister in Korea.
      • Park, Hyongkun

        Financial Institutions Manager of Green Climate Fund (GCF)
    • Leo heads up the Financial Institutions Team within the Private Sector Facility of the GCF. He also acts as Corporate Sustainability Officer leading the GCF Secretariat's internal sustainability-related efforts. Prior to the GCF, Leo spent the majority of his career in climate finance and project finance with the Korea Development Bank. He also led design and legislation of Emissions Trading Scheme with Korea's Presidential Committee on Green Growth. Leo holds a bachelor's degree in Computer and Business Studies from the University of Warwick, U.K., and an M.B.A. degree from New York University, U.S.A. He is a Ph.D. candidate in Sustainability Management at Inha University, Republic of Korea where Leo also serves as adjunct professor.
      • Alistair Ritchie

        Director of Asia-Pacific Sustainability, Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI)
    • Alistair Ritchie is Director of Asia-Pacific Sustainability at the Asia Society Policy Institute (ASPI), where he leads and oversees activities on Asian carbon market development and ASPI's overall sustainability portfolio. Alistair is an international expert in greenhouse gas emissions trading systems (ETSs), and a known leader in their development. He is currently leading a major project to contribute to resolving ETS design challenges and building regional connections of China's national ETS. Previously, he was leader of the European Commission project to support the Korean government's implementation and upgrade of the KETS (the first national ETS in East Asia).
      • Michael Sheren

    • Michael Sheren is a Senior Advisor within the Bank of England. In his role, he provides counsel and independent challenge to senior management on matters concerning, governance, banking supervision and policy as well as trends relating to financial markets. On behalf of the BoE and the UK government, Mr heren Co-Chaired the G20 Sustainable Finance Study Group with China and has contributed to bilateral negotiations and interventions on sustainable finance with a wide and diverse collection of countries. Mr Sheren is a developer of innovative financial structures, many employing cutting edge technology, for a wide range of sustainable projects around the world.
      • Shim, Sangmin

        Assistant Professor of Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA)
    • Sangmin Shim is Assistant Professor and Head of the Center for International Law at the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA). Before joining KNDA in 2016 he was visiting scholar at the Environmental Law Institute (ELI), a private think-tank that conducts research on international environmental law. During his stint at the ELI Professor Shim engaged in numerous collaborative research projects, including mainstreaming climate adaptation governance, natural resource management governance from the perspective of sustainable development, and environmental peacebuilding in post-conflict contexts.
      • Shin, Sung-Chul

        President, KAIST
    • President Sung-Chul Shin is a world-renowned physicist and leader in higher education. President Shin played a pioneering role in the research of nanospinics and as an author of 300 journal papers and 37 patents he has delivered nearly 400 professional and public lectures. President Shin joined the KAIST faculty in 1989 and served as a distinguished professor until he moved to Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology (DGIST) in 2011. He served as its founding and the second president for six years through 2017. He has been serving as a board member of the Center for the 4IR Global Network Advisory at the World Economic Forum since 2018.

    • DAVID G. VICTOR is Director of the Laboratory on International Law and Regulation and a professor at the School of Global Policy and Strategy at UC San Diego where he co-leads the University's Deep Decarbonization Initiative. Victor is also an adjunct professor in Climate, Atmospheric Science & Physical Oceanography at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. His research focuses on how regulatory law affects the environment, technology choices, industrial structure, and the operation of major energy markets.
      • Yeo, Hoon Koo

        Chairperson of Coalition for Our Common Future, Attorney at Kim & Chang
    • Hoon Koo Yeo is the Chairperson of Coalition for Our Common Future and an attorney at Kim & Chang. He practices primarily in the areas of litigation with a focus on insurance corporate, construction, and general administrative cases. Prior to joining Kim & Chang, Mr. Yeo served as a judge for 24 years. Mr. Yeo took charge of various large-scale construction cases as a presiding judge of a construction specialized civil panel at the Seoul Central District Court and dealt with many kinds of cases related to insurance corporate governance and M&A as a presiding judge of a corporation and commerce specialized civil panel at the same court. He also handled administrative cases and tax law cases as a presiding judge of an administrative panel at Suwon District Court.
      • Yoo, Kwang Yeol

    • Dr. Kwang Yeol YOO took various senior positions at Ministry of Economy and Finance and Financial Services Commission, including the Director General of International Financial Cooperation (MOEF), Commissioner of Financial Intelligence Unit and the Standing Commissioner of the Securities and Futures Commission(FSC). When he assumed the position of the Director General of International Financial Cooperation in 2013, he also worked as the Alternate Board Member of Green Climate Fund.
